FAQ's
What do I bring?
- Bathing suit and towel
- Polypropylene, capilene, or other synthetic long underwear (avoid cotton)
- Aqua socks or wet suit booties (foot room in kayaks can be tight)
- Water and lunch
- Sunscreen (yes, even on cloudy days)
- Noseplugs (optional, some people prefer them)
- A smile!
What time does it start?
10:00 on both days, finishing up at 4:30 or 5:00 on both days.
Where do I go?
We use Cultus Lake for the first day of flatwater instruction and the Vedder or Chilliwack for the second day. When your deposit has been received you will be sent an information package.
Can I start this weekend?
Sorry, no. We need about 10 days notice to maintain our low teacher/student ratio, and we require your deposit prior to the course start date.
Who's teaching?
Our staff is certified in whitewater kayak instruction, are experienced paddlers and excellent teachers. They'll introduce you to the joys of kayaking in a fun, relaxed, and above all, safe manner.
Where do I stay?
The course fee does not include accommodation. There is plenty of camping available, also hotels and a few bed and breakfasts. More details can be found on our Accommodations page. Let us know if you need more info.
Are meals included?
No, please bring your own lunch. Or you can purchase it at one of the convenience stores or restaurants close by.
